Introduction

In THRON there is a set of elements whose purpose is to ensure a better content and contact (either THRON users or external contacts) classification, thus leading to a dual result:

  • A better organization of the information, making content retrieval easier.
  • Optimization of the content delivery process: if a content is classified properly, it will be easier to identify the category of contacts for whom it is intended.

Elements that build content classification are:

  • Classification: it is the macro-category used for content classification. Typically it corresponds to the criteria by which you want to categorize your content (e.g. TOPIC, TARGET).
  • Relationship: it is the link between the entity (content or contacts) and the classification. It is identified by a specific question which helps to categorize entities within that specific classification. Within the same classification you can have a different relationship according to the entity. For example:

CLASSIFICATION

ENTITY

RELATIONSHIP

TOPIC

Content

What topics is this content about?

TOPIC

Contacts

What is the contact interested in?

  • Tag: It is the answer to the question identifying the relationship between the entity and the classification. Tags are organized into "trees" so if a content or a contact is tagged with a "child" tag, it will automatically inherit all the "parent" tags in the tree. All the tags are multilanguage.

Tags can be created in two ways (each kind of tag will have a different color):

  • Manually, by those users having the proper role or permission (default color in Dashboard is orange).
  • Automatically, by the built-in Semantic Engine: a powerful Artificial Intelligence tool that analyses documents, audio and video content right after their upload, identifying keywords and main topics covered by the content itself (default color in Dashboard is purple).

Furthermore, we distinguish between:

  • Organized tags: tags created within the dictionary in the Tag Center section of the THRON Dashboard (or via web services) by a user with the relative permission, or tags which have been moved from the “Misc” branch into the organized dictionary.
  • Non-organized tags (Misc): tags created by the semantic engine or within the "edit" section of a content/user which have never been organized in the dictionary.

Tags can be linked to content/contacts in three ways:

  • by a user with proper role or permission (from the "edit" section of the content/user).
  • by the Semantic engine (during the content publishing process).
  • by the Behavior engine (once a week, according to analytics).

Tagging generates a retroactive update of views-related statistics.

TOPIC and TARGET classifications

Two default classifications have the following configuration.

Highlighted values are entirely configurable by users; tag assignation threshold can't be lower than 50%.

TARGET

Content

  • Relationship: Which users is this content for?
  • Semantic engine: Not applicable.
  • Behavior engine:
    • Time window: Engine will process views of the last 6 months.
    • Tag association: Engine will process content having a view count greater than 10; contacts' tags (TARGET) accounting for 50% or more views will be automatically assigned to content. E.g: Given a content on a website with 100 views, if at least 50 views have been performed by users having a specific tag, Behavior engine will automatically assign that tag to the content's TARGET classification.
    • Tag removal: Engine will remove tags from content when views with such tag account for less than 10% total views. E.g: Given a content on a website with 100 views, if less than 10 have been performed by users with a specific tag, Behavior engine will automatically remove that specific tag from the content's TARGET classification.

Contacts

  • Relationship: Which features/characteristics describe this user?
  • Semantic engine: Not applicable.
  • Behavior engine: Not applicable.

TOPIC

Content

  • Relationship: What topics is this content about?
  • Semantic engine: When engine recognition reliability is above 60%, tag will automatically be created and assigned.
  • Behavior engine: Not applicable.

Contacts

  • Relationship: What is the contact interested in?
  • Semantic engine: Not applicable.
  • Behavior engine:
    • Time window: Engine will process views of the last 6 months.
    • Tag association: Engine will process contacts having more than 10 views on content; content tags (TOPIC) accounting for 50% or more views will be automatically assigned to contacts; E.g: Suppose that Mr. Green has 100 views on THRON content in the last 6 months. Behavior engine will automatically assign to Mr. Green's TOPIC classification those tags which have been encountered at least 50 times.
    • Tag removal: Engine will automatically remove tags from users when content with such tags account for less than 10% total views. E.g.: Suppose that Mr. Green has 100 views on THRON content in the last 6 months. Behavior engine will automatically remove from Mr. Green's TOPIC classification those tags which have been encountered less than 10 times.

Custom classifications

You can create up to three custom classifications for any integration project.
